DISTRICT 14, ARES REPEATER FINANCIAL SUPPORT

DISTRICT 14, ARES REPEATER
FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Many repeaters on which we depend for our communications, which includes our Special Events, our regular nets and, of course
our emergency operations when situations arise, are owned and operated by our peers who have deep pockets and we owe them
our deepest appreciation and thanks. Others, however, do not have such financial support and it falls on us, the users and
especially the ARES units that use these repeaters regularly, to keep them in good repair.

Below are lists of links to donation portals that have been set up by repeater owners/trustees who have requested our help.
Please be generous. $25.00 annually is a suggested minimum support level but a lot of hams will need to donate when lightning
strikes and a replacement repeater can run $2,500 or more plus antenna, cable, power supply, etc.

From time to time, we will send out requests for additional donations for a specific need for these repeater systems but such
emergencies will, hopefully, be rare.

And while you’re thinking about it, go set a calendar reminder for your monthly, quarterly, biannual or annual donation(s).

And…while we’re thinking about support for services we use and you’ve got your checkbook open, don’t forget those software
developers like Winlink Express on whom we depend.

Thanks for your help. . .
